Starbucks or the Keurig machine?
Furrylittlegnome found herself in a bit of a dilemma this morning. It is a chilly Friday in downtown Boston and Good Friday, to boot. As one of the first to arrive at the office, she typically powers on the Keurig for the office use throughout the day and readies her coffee cup (cream and sugar) for the French Vanilla or Hazelnut K-Cup; both products of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (a company based in gnome’s homeland of Vermont).
This morning was different. In furrylittlegnome’s head, she was thinking about a tall, vanilla latte from Starbucks. She passes three of those establishments on her walk to work each morning. Was she cold and just needed a hot beverage in her hand? Was she thirsty or did she have a hankering for waiting in line for three minutes, paying almost four dollars and waiting another three minutes for her latte to be ready?
Gnome is sitting in her office now listening to the Keurig roar for others, and it reminds her that that little sound of coffee brewing the flavor of your choice is a happy one. It also reminds furrylittlegnome that she clearly made the wrong decision today.
