Well, it’s that time of year again…
Furrylittlegnome placed her order three weeks ago, and to her surprise, boxes of girl scout cookies were delivered to her, at the office, this afternoon. She doesn’t stray. Furrylittlegnome always orders two boxes of Thin Mints and one box of something else. This year’s “something else” was a box of Shout Outs! Hey!
Before furrylittlegnome could finish reading the nutrition content on the side of the box, she had devoured almost an entire sleeve of Thin Mints. Only three lonesome cookies remain in the tinfoil. They taste better than ever, however, the effects could be long-term. Four cookies are worth one hundred sixty calories – we need to multiply that number by three. And, someone said at dinner tonight, the mint in the cookie actually causes her heartburn that lasts for weeks!
We eat them and dread them – yet, they taste too good to ignore!
I don’t think you should fret Gnome – if you start feeling bad about the cookies, just remember you are supporting a wonderful organization! I say eat them and be merry! I’ve always been a fan of the Peanut Butter Patties myself (although they have had many names).
